EP1- Get Back to our favorite Beatles covers

Over Christmas I had the chance to sit down and watch the Beatles documentary, “Get Back”, If you are any kind of Beatles fan, I encourage you to watch it. It’s long, running nearly 6 hours and it moves slow but, with that said, it is impossible to look away from. Watching all John and Paul s effortlessly pull songs out of thin air is amazing and magical to watch. With that said, as our kickoff episode, Peter and I felt compelled to honor the series and share our 10 favorite Beatles covers. We had a few that we both picked but most were different and often unique covers that the other was unaware of.

So, sit back and explore Beatles covers as we help you to find 10 songs.

I spent a good portion of my life devoted to music. I was in a variety of concert and swing choirs during my High School years. In college I took music classes and played in my band, “The Hostage Flamingos”. Later I progressed to writing music and concert reviews for several independent newspapers and zines in Chicago. Even though my current career is not music focused, it is still a passion of mine that helps me to find balance in my day.

I grew up in Chicago during the 80’s and 90’s and saw many of the local bands from Naked Raygun and Cheap Trick to Smashing Pumpkins and Liz Phair during those years as well as working at the Riveria which was a key live music venue and nightclub. I spent several years in Cincinnati, Ohio hanging with members of Live Skull, The Afghan Wigs and Adrian Belew. Then I headed to the music mecca of LA and finally to Seattle where I now reside and help friends and colleagues find new music.
